AntiMicro 0.8 Release

(Comments)

Version 0.8 of AntiMicro has been released. The biggest change with this version is that two axes can be combined to form a controller stick. This allows for a user to specify the range that dictates a diagonal press. This is a feature that I have wanted in this program for a while but I had trouble thinking of a way to implement it. Here is a breakdown of some of the changes made with this version:

  • Controller stick support has been added. Two axes can be combined to form a controller stick. This feature allows for a user to specify the range that dictates a diagonal press.
  • XLookupString is now used to obtain the readable string corresponding to a keyboard key. Fallbacks are still used for strings that would not be usable such as the string returned for Escape.
  • AntiMicro now uses the newer standard location for writing its configuration file (ex. ~/.config/antimicro).
  • Profiles can be loaded from the command-line using the --profile flag
  • Checks are used to only allow one instance of AntiMicro to run at a time. A new profile can be loaded into the currently running instance using the --profile flag.
  • Distance and Release actions have been fixed.
  • Mouse movement event handling has been altered to allow for more control on the development front.

This program is now really close to being worthy of a 1.0 release. The only major feature that is missing that I would like to include is allowing for 8-way controls for controller sticks and d-pads. This is mainly an interface problem since there is already code in place to handle different key presses for diagonal presses.
